Births Championships
In 1920-1930, the "Formulas International Race No. 1," car designed specially for racing, make their appearance. But it was not until 1946 that the discipline takes its magnitude due to the standardization of rules required by the Commission international sports.
In 1950, while auto racing in full swing, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) decided to organize a world championship manufacturers. This championship has six major international auto prices down in Europe, except the Indianapolis 500. The races are open to Formula 1, also called Indy Car at 500 miles, where the capacity does not exceed 4.5 liters. The Alfa Romeo Alfetta (type 158 and 159), driven by Giuseppe Farina and Juan Manuel Fangio, outperforming the overall championship, prompting the FIA to establish thereafter categories. Formula 2 is made and appearance 1952.
