Road Safety
Since its birth, the car was seen as a dangerous invention. Its evolution, designed to meet the problems raised by the prevention and road safety as it was perceived over the years, has been tortuous. Apart from the management of the road network and user behavior, the problems are those of passive safety - the protection of occupants in the event of an accident - and active safety - prevention to avoid the accident. Historically, only the latter aspect has been improved continuously; improving passive safety began only in the 1970, a period of increase in fatalities.
